Based on my own classroom lecture notes, I performed the instructional design and HTML implementation for this online Humber College course. The course's assignments, discussion forums, and exercises were designed to encourage students to learn in an active manner.
The main objective of the course is to provide students with skill in using IBM's Job Control Language (JCL) to control the execution of batch jobs running under the OS/390 & z/OS mainframe operating systems. Online course material is coordinated with assignments in which students connect to a z/OS Internet server to practise that activity.
Students are evaluated based on their performance on assignments, on their score on an online quiz, on their participation in online discussions, and on their mark on a proctored final exam.
